• ½ batch Vegan Brioche Dough (see recipe)
For the filling:
• 113g ( ½ cup) vegan butter
• 100g (½ cup) granulated sugar
• 1 tablespoon ground cardamom
• ¼ teaspoon fine sea salt
Préparation
FOR THE VEGAN BRIOCHE DOUGH:
Follow the Vegan Brioche Dough recipe to prepare the dough. Once the dough is ready, pro-ceed with the Swedish cardamom buns instructions below.
ASSEMBLING THE INDIVIDUAL SWEDISH CARDAMOM BUNS:
1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. On a floured surface, divide the prepared dough into small portions.
3. Roll out each dough portion into a rectangular shape. Spread a layer of vegan butter over the dough, leaving a border around the edges.
4. In a mixing bowl, combine granulated sugar, ground cardamom, and fine sea salt. Evenly sprinkle this mixture over the vegan butter layer.
5. Carefully roll up the dough from one edge to the other, enclosing the cardamom fill-ing. Cut the rolled dough into individual portions.
6. Place the cardamom-filled rolls on an oiled baking tray. Leave some space between them for rising.
7. Cover the tray with a clean kitchen towel and let the cardamom buns rise in a warm, draft-free place for about 30-45 minutes, or until they've doubled in size.
8. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Once the buns have risen, they should appear puffy and ready for baking.
9. Bake the cardamom buns in the preheated oven for approximately 20 minutes, or un-til they're golden brown and thoroughly baked.
10. Allow the baked cardamom buns to cool for about 10 minutes on a cooling rack. This will help set their texture before serving.
